That sense of a deeper connection with your chosen places and subjects comes across strongly in your work which is why I have loved following for many years now. I can relate to your connection project, and the idea that once we get to know a landscape it starts to feel like home. I always feel I make my best work in familiar landscapes, simply because I understand them.
