A short episode this week from a wander through my local park. I walk Ralph here most days, and it's easy to take these familiar places for granted when it comes to image-making. But taking a moment to pause now and then helps me see with fresh eyes.
This time, I focused on the bracken growing in the woodland. Beneath the dense canopy, the area is usually quite dark, but on this bright, sunny morning, pockets of light broke through creating contrast and atmosphere for a few moody shots. The unfurling fronds of the bracken are both intricate and sculptural a quietly beautiful subject to study for an hour or so.
